2 days down

2 days down and changes are still being made.  Taught Kindergarten for the first time ever.  Not that big a deal I guess.  But I am happy that I only have to plan/teach one hour and subject.  Got the rest of the week planned out yesterday, I think I was at school longer than almost everyone else.  It is quite a bit more work than I had anticipated but I think that is partly because I have 7 different subjects/grades I have to plan for.  meh. It sure is good to have Wednesday off, it's going to make planning and being rested for teaching a heck of a lot easier.  Well, I guess that's it, I suppose it's not that interesting but at least it's something written down.  I hope the rest of the week goes as well as the first half.  We'll see!

Entry 1

Hi blog,

I know that no one but me will see this so I'm going to write to you like you're my best friend, so keep my secrets safe.  I've only been an official teacher for two days now, don't even have any students yet, and I am already feeling a little overwhelmed.  But maybe that's it.  I've never had a problem teaching, making crap when I don't have anything else to do or changing plans on the fly.  But maybe it's exactly the fact that I have only talked about what I will teach and not actually done any teaching that has me all jacked up.

I'm also kind of worried about this new EL teaching manual I have to use.  I know that they have seen results with it or they wouldn't have given it too me, but talk about too much information.  The binder is like 2.5 inches thick and not only are there almost no diagrams but there is also a ton of theory, which is all fine and dandy, but honestly I don't care at the moment I just want to know what the heck you want me to teach and an outline for how to teach it.  I hope that after another read through of the general area of the book I will be using it will make more sense.  Here's to hoping.

okay, good first post.  I wonder if there will be a second.
